Films I'm very Excited to Watch in the Next Few Months (and why you should be too)

If you didn't know this about me, I LOVE the cinema! I go pretty often, and film premiers feature heavily in my planners! So after lockdowns, the cinema industry is struggling to get back on its feet. Cineworld is even teetering on bankruptcy. As an unlimited card holder, this is such sad news, and I hope they can pull through. However, it is not all bad news as the film industry has some corkers coming up!  After the D23 Expo , there are a lot of good films coming out of the Disney/Pixar studio. I will not be listing them here, but I've popped a link you can visit to see. I'm incredibly excited about The Little Mermaid coming out in the Spring (2023).  Talking about Disney magic, This next film has been 30 years in the making. I'm excited to kick off Halloween 2022 with Hocus Pocus 2! It's being premiered on Disney+ on September 30, 2022. I'm away for work but I will be catching up with my hubby when I get back. I'm scared of the Sanderson sisters 🤣. Ther...

Hair Journey : Twist Outs & Hair Hauls

If you know me in real life, You would have noticed that I have been growing out my grade 2 fro. I spoke about my hair being a reliable barometer for my internal health in the past. This I think is still a fair assessment. I was going away for the weekend and my plan was to use my time on the mainland to get my hair twisted. This wasn't meant to be though as I was let down by the hairdresser ( with a very condescending "Sorry Sweetie" *eye roll*) So I needed to get my hair sorted. On Thursday evening, Whilst I watched Death in Paradise, I got my supplies together. These were Shea Moisture Coconut & Hibiscus Hold and Shine Mist Shea Moisture Coconut & Hibiscus Curl Enhancing Smoothie Denman Detangling Brush Spray Bottle Olive Oil I started by spraying each section with the mist, moisturising it, detangling with the Brush before finally twisting it. I then sealed with the oil.  Paying attention to the front, I made sure to part it the way I wante...

Journey Back to My First Love : Writing

I’ve always loved writing. Ever since I could really. It was my salvation from a world that didn’t understand me. I used to write stories about the life I wanted. It felt like something Enid Blyton would’ve written. Except I wasn’t an English writer who made children’s imaginations run wild. I was a 6 year old who lived in Nigeria, with a very confusing relationship with her distant dad. I still wanted to live in Honeysuckle Cottage down a country lane somewhere. I kept writing to process the perils of growing up in a popularity contest also known as Boarding School. I gave my characters slightly disguised pseudonyms to the peers I struggled to connect with (& those I did connect with - no one was spared!) I always kept a journal. I remember my mum saying to me at age 11, that I shouldn’t as people always end up reading it. It was irony indeed at 14 when she was the one who invaded my privacy. After that, I was cautious but I couldn’t stay away so I started another at 15, in a...

Travel: runDisney Weekend Part 2!

The last time we went to Disneyland Paris was in July,2017. We stayed in Newport Bay Hotel - which was right up my street in terms of decor & luxury. I was a bit apprehensive this time round but I want to try ALL the disney hotels so i figured this was my chance to tick Hotel Cheyenne off my list. Hotel Cheyenne is styled in a Wild West Frontier town style. I really liked it. Yee-Haaaa! The bedrooms itself was styled in a Toy Story theme. I had Woody, Jessie & Bullseye in a frame behind my head. I was in a shared room that consisted of a double bed, a single & a pull out single bed. Friday We arrived, got checked in, Unpacked and headed into the Disney village. We were directed into the runDisney expo which was located in the Disney Event arena on the outskirts of the Disney village. There we collected our bibs and race packs. We browsed the runDisney merchandise. I was on a tight-ish budget so I bought myself a limited...

Travel: runDisney Weekend - Part 1

There are 2 important things you need to know about me: 1) I'm a HUGE Disney Nerd - and proud of it. 2) I LOVE TO TRAVEL. See new places (or the same favourite places 👀) , meet new faces. Have a cultural exchange & swap life perspectives. I have a huge list of places I want to see but one place I always will want to come back to is Paris. Ever since I stepped foot in France & all my daydreams met my reality, it's somewhere I just adore. This summer, me & my boys, hubby included visited Disneyland Paris for the first time and that too lived up to my expectations. I felt so at home there, I am seriously considering investing in an annual pass. This weekend is the 2nd runDisney weekend in Paris and yours truly is going to be there. My first official 10k race had to be in the place that makes me extremely happy. Am I looking forward to it!? You betcha'! I'm meeting my Online Running Family at the Eurostar to experience this together. Today ...

IRL: Crafty Catch Up 2017

Well what can I say? My first ever planner meet up was all I thought it would be! I had an absolute ball. I had wanted to come to the last one but being an islander meant it was just too far for me to consider however things changed when this date was announced. 22nd July was only a few days away from our wedding anniversary. We'd planned to spend it at Disneyland Paris so it made perfect sense to do the crafty catch up on the Saturday, and then continue on to France the following day. Serendipity. What I didn't account for was the mania that it would entail. Kids breaking off for summer Friday afternoon, finishing packing, cleaning the house etc , getting the 7am ferry, driving to Kent, etc on the Saturday. As I arrived, I saw the beautifully laid out Lydd Community Hall. In the hallway was the table plan, I was on table 3... I met great people! I was reminded that all kinds of people love crafts, I was inspired by their creativity Specifically the mummy/daugh...
